ACTS OF COMPASSION BY OTHERS
Country:
Every one of us can make the world a better place and bring happiness to others every day. It may seem like a “small thing,” but no act of compassion is small. These acts make others feel better and feel valued, help people, and spread kindness. Others may be more likely to act compassionately after they have experienced an act of compassion toward themselves. This can be contagious!
The hope is that this website inspires others to act and continue to act compassionately. Seeing examples of what others do and the difference it makes might prompt others to see the importance of this and act accordingly. People can feel proud to add their act to the growing list of these acts on this website.
No act is too small! Even smiling at someone to make them feel good or better is an act of compassion. Compassion is caring and concern! We all need to be on the receiving end of these acts, and we all need to be on the giving end. Compassion makes us all better people and while each act makes the world a better place in certain ways, all of the acts together make the world a much better place. Don’t wait!
Everyone can act compassionately. Even if a person is unhappy, acting compassionately toward others can bring them happiness and a sense of worth because they made a difference.
An act of compassion makes both the “giver” and “receiver” feel better. Names are not included on the postings because the purpose is not to take credit for what was done compassionately—the giver and receiver are already aware of the rewards of the act. The purpose of the postings is to inspire others to do the same and see or imagine the difference these acts of compassion can make.
There is also an area where people can post acts of compassion that were directed toward them or others. These stories will also be inspiring, and will show the difference these acts have made.
Let’s spread kindness and compassion act by act, person by person, making it a better world.
How fast can we reach one million postings? One billion?!
